Our Story

Then and now

New Rathna Rice (pvt) Ltd was established as small rice mill in 1981 with five employees. Those days we dry the boiled paddy at a big yard with sunlight. And we passed a few difficult eras and at the moment we use the world famous new technology called BUHLER. At the same time we help to our village farmers by offering the best price for their harvest. So they never leave our rice mill and that's one of the key point to our success. We maintain a bulk of paddy stock continuously all over the year. Generally we are maintaining a stock of 50000MT of paddy in all verities. Recently we opened our new factory at Welikanda area with total land space of 200 acre and the mill has spread through 10 acre. In present our milling capacity per hour is 47MT which leads to a total rice production of 400MT per day.

Our Strength

Parboiling System

New Rathna Rice (pvt) Ltd. Is the first rice mill in the country who installed a fully automated parboiling System. The total system is made by using stainless steel to ensure the durability and high product quality. The total system is designed and installed according to the international quality standards.

Grinding

We are the first rice mill in Sri Lanka that installed the world famous milling machinery and Technology of “BUHLER“. These BUHLER machines are fully automated and computer controlled systems .

Quality controlling

All New Rathna Rice products are carefully processed in a fully hyginiec environment. All the production lines are made of stainless steel insted of steel, to ensure that our products are not affected by the machine corrosion. Our total manufacturing process is under the supervision of trained and experienced Quality Supervisors. If we get any issue even in the transportation, we do not think twice to get back them to ensure that the customers get only the best products.

Environment Safeguard

Our establishment situated in the center of beautiful agricultural Village. So we do not drain the waste water to the environment. Therefore we installed a Waste water Treatment plant with the inspection of Central Environmental Authority of Sri Lanka. Therefore we could achieve the Environmental Protection permit (03020(R1) F1 for our establishment.

Distribution

We maintain a island wide dealer network to supply rice to our consumers. And we provide transportation to our dealers. In Present elevath district we have sales promotions managers they are looking after whole district sales and marketing process.
